Glade Creek Grist Mill

The quintessential Appalachian mill, Babcock State Park’s Glade Creek Grist Mill stands as one of the most photographed sites in West Virginia.

Babcock State Park (West Virginia)'s beautiful old mill

We visited this site briefly in the summer of 2010 on our way to explore another interesting West Virginia site – Nuttallburg Coal Mining Complex and Town Historic District. It was fun to try my hand at this oft-recorded scene but we didn’t spend too much time exploring the rest of the park. It is definitely on the list of places to visit again sometime. According to google image search, the place is kind of incredible in the fall.
