I don’t know why I held off buying a light tent for so long. At $40, I could always reason that a light tent was something I could just set up with the materials on hand. Well, I could but I never really did. Sure, I would throw a towel over the end table every once in a while and shoot objects, but it was rather inconvenient and I rarely actually did it. When I did, I had trouble controlling the light and the glare. It was all so cumbersome.

It always refreshes my creative spirit to visit a new place, particularly one that is visually a bit different from where I’ve been before. A few weeks ago I spent a weekend in Columbus, Ohio visiting my sister and really was left feeling like there was so much more to investigate in this interesting little city. These are just a few snaps from North Market.








We had a special guest at my parents’ house for Mother’s Day this year. His name is Beauregard Puppyton Strayhound and he is the doggiest dog I have ever met. Ever. “Dog” with all caps and an exclamation mark.
My dad woke up one Saturday morning in April to find a dog crying at the front gate. Dad saw the dog and didn’t understand what a fully grown dog would be doing begging at a stranger’s house. So Dad went out to introduce himself. As it turns out, Beauregard is not an adult. Oh no. Beauregard is a three or four month old puppy who can put his paws on the shoulders of my 5′ 2′ frame and devourers Beneful Puppy Food straight from the thirty pound bag.

When I jumped into my car at 8:45pm last night, headed to the craft store (that closes at 9pm and I live, apparently, 12 minutes away from) because I was out of spray adhesive, I realized that I have so much to learn before I exhibit my work again.
Lesson one: plan head.
Actually, I learned that when I ran out of ink on Friday after planning to hang my work on Saturday. I love living in a relatively rural area and I love my Epson R1900. However, I do miss being able to pick up an ink cartridge at the local store. That just isn’t an option so my lack of cyan turned into a three day delay.
