About
Whetstone Studio is the online display space for the photography and design of yours truly, Jessica Anderson.
I love old cameras, but I love old places more.
I was born in Opelika, Alabama, raised in a suburb of Washington DC, and keep my heart in Appalachia.
When I’m not testing the limits of my camera or the patience of my husband, I work as an aide at a non-profit hospice house. It is an exhausting low wage job that includes doing things that defy the limits of the human gag reflex and put little cracks in my heart, but most days I feel like I am actually doing something to make the world suck a little less and that’s really what I’m trying for. When I volunteered there people thought I was sweet. Now that it is my job they just think I am crazy.
